Blown away reading this. I worked across the street at the Post Office and occasionally deliver the mail and/ or have lunch. Also, a late cousin of mine Stan "Fat´s" Washington, Sr. would have me bring him home dinner sometimes. I know it has been a while since Carl´s passing but, my sincerest condolences and may our Creator grant you and your family peace, love, and happiness during this holiday season and the days, weeks, months, and years to come.

I just am reading now that Mr. Rhodes has passed. My sincere sympathies to his dear wife Kim, his children and family, and everyone at C&K Smokehouse. Mr. Rhodes' family were the first people we met in Bradenton when we moved to Florida 22 years ago from Ohio. We rented an apartment in Bradenton while our house in Parrish was being built and Kim and her mother and children were living across the hall for us. Such dear people. My sincerely sympathies to the family for this very sad loss. Prayers to the family. Sincerely, Diane Hajek & Family, Parrish, FL

After submitting my thoughts and condolences for the Rhodes family, I was sorry I did not say something about how that dear family has worked together so hard with their Christian faith and values always at the forefront, working hard together to create and serve delicious and homemade foods in a friendly and welcoming environment. They have a very inviting area inside and outside for dining there. They also do catering and take orders for family functions which is how I first came to know of them and their delicious food years ago. Since then, they have helped us many times when we have had family functions. Carl, Kimberly, Darryl and the children have all worked very hard together to create a one-of-a-kind family-owned business. Carl Rhodes has left a beautiful legacy of living out Christian values for the world to see, which I am certain his family will carry on in his honor.
I am sure God, whom Carl Rhodes loved and served so long, will continue to be with the family of this Godly man on their journey through this new phase of their lives. Even when things in our lives happen which we do not expect, they do not catch God by surprise. He is right there with us and ready with whatever we need - "a very present help in time of trouble." What a blessing it is to know He will never leave us nor forsake us and is with us always.

I was saddened to learn today of Carl Rhodes' passing. While we, here, who are left behind, are saddened at the loss of our friend and loved one, our friend and loved one is rejoicing with the Lord in Glory, rejoicing with the Lord whose death on the Cross of Calvary paid the price so we could spend eternity with Him.
I pray that the sure knowledge that they will one day be reunited with him in Heaven will provide comfort to Carl's family and friends in this time of sadness. My husband went to be with he Lord three years ago and it is a blessing to know that because of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice, this separation is only a temporary one.
May the peace of God, which passes all understanding and can only come from Him, be with all the Rhodes family during this time.
We are having a family gathering tomorrow afternoon or else I would be at the funeral service at Saint Mary's but my prayers will be with the family tomorrow and as the Lord reminds me.
In Christian Love,
Minnie Adele Potter

We are so sorry to hear of Carl's passing. We have loved C&K since the beginning and always enjoyed seeing Carl at Sam's Club early in the morning with a load of pork. He has left a great legacy for Kim and the kids to live by. Many blessings and prayers for them. Until we meet again! Sarah and Gary Hornsby
