December 28, 1950 - September 2, 2023
Lakewood Ranch, Florida - Carolyn "Carrie" (née Miller) Linhares, age 72, of Lakewood Ranch, FL, formerly of Schererville, IN, Alexandria, VA and Palm Coast, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on September 2, 2023. She is survived by three brothers; Donald, Kenneth (Susan) and James Miller (Andrea Mudge); a sister, Marilyn Page (Tom); and step-daughter-in-law, Sandy Linhares and her children; Savanna and Connor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso in 2010; and by her parents; Arthur and Geraldine Miller of Schererville, IN.
Carolyn and her husband found great meaning and support in their lives from longstanding participation in Alcoholics Anonymous. Carolyn had recently achieved her 44-year medallion. In keeping with her giving character she sponsored other people in AA, and her community expresses how much of a support and friend she has been to them over the years.
Per Carolyn's wishes, funeral services were not observed. Carolyn will be remembered by family and friends as a gentle, kind and loving person who worked each day to meet life's challenges with strength and courage and to share the fruits of her love with all she met. Carolyn demonstrated a fondness and respect for nature and allowed it to shape her own nature as a gentle and kind human being. Carolyn will be greatly missed by her family, but her enduring love will sustain us.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carolyn's name to the American Cancer Society.
