Daniel Laurance Lord

Daniel Lord Obituary

5/15/1949 - 7/10/2016 The man, the myth, the legend. Dan was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1949. He move to Florida in his early 20's and instantly transformed into a true Floridian. His love for food propelled him to become a fixture on the island restaurant scene. He also had a passion for music, often jumping on stage with the local house bands to play his harmonicas, that he rarely left home without. Possibly his greatest attribute was his gift of gab. It allowed him to become friends with everyone he ever came into contact with. He will be missed by all, but his stories will carry on forever. Survived by his son Simon, daughter-in-law Dana, grandchildren Cameron and Grant, brother Chris, sister-in-law Mary, nieces Amber, Ivy, Megan, and Courtney, and nephew Thomas. He was predeceased by his parents Laurance and Peggy, and brother Jeff. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 18th at O'Shucks restaurant on Cortez Road from 6pm - 8pm.

Even after 5 long years it seems odd not to see you in the neighborhood stopping to speak with one or another. You are missed by all!

Every day we look next door and expect to see you puttering about in your yard. It seems strange not to see you there. You are thought of often and missed even more.

I ran into you at Walmart often. So we were able to keep updated on family and friends. I have known you for nearly forty years and I will miss our chance encounters when we catch up. RIP!
