Donald Schork Obituary
He earned a B. A. degree from Florida Southern College, Lakeland, FL and spent two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Don then taught American History for 17 years at Manatee High School, department chairman at the end of that period. He served as a Florida Parole Officer and then a Manatee County Probation Officer for 13 years in Bradenton and Palmetto offices.
While at Manatee High School, he met and married Sonia (Sunny) Dalrymple, an English teacher on staff, June 25th, 1960.
Old west history buffs, they spent summers studying, photographing, visiting and hiking ghost/mining towns and national parks from Alaska – Mexico.
The couple retired to Tombstone, AZ, where they were re-enactors in The O. K. Corral. There, in 1987, Don became a life member of The American Legion Post 24.
He is survived by his wife Sonia (Tucson) and three nieces and a sister-in-law in the Atlanta area, and a nephew Steven Schork in Bradenton, FL.
Interment will be in The Southern Arizona Veteran's Memorial Cemetery on Fort Huachuca, Sierra Vista, AZ.

I have fond memories of my first year at MHS in 1968. Both Don and Sunny were so nice and helpful besides plenty of laughs!! More years followed that one!! RIP Don!!

Mr. Schork was my sociology teacher at Manatee High, was a super nice guy and kept the lessons interesting and with some of his experiences very entertaining, condolences to his family.

Mr.Schork was my American history and sociology teacher at Manatee High School. I remember how his style of teaching would always keep you interested. I will never forget him. My condolences to the family.
