I counted Don as a friend. I worked with him at Manasota in the mid 1990s. I am ashamed to say that I lost touch with him when I resigned from the postal service and moved from Florida. I only found out of his passing when I visited Sarasota last August (2016).
I have good memories of our time together - Working on the LSMs, Grilling drumsticks, laughing...
I miss that. I miss him.

To the Strohfus family my sincere condolences. I just found out today about the passing of your dad last August. He was the sweetest man to me. I always looked forward to seeing him and was able to help him retire from the post office. We talked early in the summertime last year but in my efforts to do our annual review I learned this news today. I will miss him and my prayers are with you.

Don moved to Belvidere, IL and entered high school in the middle of it all, yet excelled. He was a great guy and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. May God rest his soul.

Don always called me when a hurricane was heading towards the east coast to see if I wanted to escape to the west coast. I will miss him at our next Belvidere High School class reunion. He always made me laugh. His favorite topic was his children, what they were doing and how proud he was of them. RIP Don...I will miss you.

Don, I believed was one of those people whom was liked by everyone. He always seemed to have a chuckle about him and a twinkle in his eyes. He was fun to work with and will be missed.

Don was a super guy! Straightforward, and lots of fun, a rare breed. I can't believe that he's left us. I will miss him very much. My deepest sympathies to Debbie and his family.

Knew Don from Manasota, from the early years when we'd all go play volleyball after work, to the lively talks about the Vikings (him) and the Packers (me). He was a nice guy and always so proud of his kids. Sorry for your loss. Debbie Sullivan

God Bless Mr. Strohfus. He was my Jr High math teacher in Anderson, IN. I went on to be a teacher myself and always remembered what a great teacher he was!!

Don was the the greatest father who loved his children so very much. We used to see him at the soft ball games, cheering for Jeanne'. We are thinking of you all. The Middleton Family.
