Bradenton, Florida - Kathryn (Kathy) Mary Jaster, 78, died unexpectedly on April 17, 2024 at her home in Bradenton, Florida.
Kathy was born on November 28, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Walter and Rose (Bobeczko) Popiolek. She married Michael Jaster on January 7, 1967, after she graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Alexis Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Her nursing career spanned many years and included critical care and physician office practices. They raised three daughters in Cleveland. Kathy loved vacationing in Bradenton, Florida, with her family to see her sister, Frances Furnald. In 1982, she and her family moved to Bradenton to escape the cold weather in Cleveland. In her younger years, she loved sun bathing and making candy and cakes. In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and participating in church activities.
Preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Rose Popiolek, and brother, Stanley Popiolek. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Michael; her sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Patrick Furnald; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and Dennis Christopher; her daughters, Stephanie Fenlon D.O. (Todd), Carolynn Mickel (Jason "Andy"), and Alicia Jones (Tyrone "TJ"). She also leaves grandchildren, Lauren Fenlon, JC Hooper, Emily Mickel, Alexis Pompey, Miya Yawn, Jamon Jones, Erin Fenlon, Megan Fenlon, Aja Jones, and Abby Mickel and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Brown and Sons Funeral Home 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, Florida. Funeral services will be held 9:30 A.M. on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bradenton, Florida. Burial will be immediately following at Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton. A luncheon will follow at Palmetto Point Clubhouse, 637 43rd Street Blvd West, Palmetto, FL 34221.
