Dad G.,
I never realized that I didn't have the chance to thank you for everything that you have given me. You showed me how to forgive others and to celebrate life to the fullest. You reminded me that family and friends are the most important things in life, to take risks, to work towards something bigger than myself, and to bet with my heart. I can't believe it's been over a month since your journey to heaven. I know that you are getting the place ready for us so we can join you one day.
It seems like yesterday when I walked into that house in Maryland. That was the day I walked into the Goings' world. I anticipated meeting my future in-laws. I was worried that I wouldn't fit into the family but as soon as we met, my worries dissipated. I can't remember what you were wearing but it was probably PJs or something of the sort. Standing before me was a man who was full of humor, kindness, selflessness, and generosity. There was no doubt that you had a big heart and would guide me along the way in this life. Indeed, I know why Mom G. fell in love with you. Whenever you were around, you made others smile and there wasn't a day that went by that we weren't comforted. You were always around or a phone call away. I could sit and listen to your stories for hours similar to you listening to Elvis. You accepted me for who I was and always encouraged me to do my best in life and at work. Most importantly, you supported me even when others may have doubted me. You were good at keeping secrets, too. I still think about that time you came to pick me up (at the airport) and I had gotten lost in the airport for a long time. You saved me from embarrassment. I guess the secrets out now.
Thank you for taking me in as your own daughter and making me feel like part of the family. Your dancing, singing, and jokes were always entertaining. Your kind words and hugs were always uplifting. I will always remember the good that you brought into this world. I will remember how strong you were as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Just as important, I will remember how hard you fought your last battle. I know that you loved and adored us all. This gives me such comfort because I know that although we cannot see you, you will always be right there in our hearts and precious memories. Your love and joy will radiate on us forever. Your light is embedded. Thank you for everything. I miss you so much!Love you Dad G.

Ellen and family, I am sorry I will not be able to attend. This weather is crazy! Larry was one of my favorite cousins! I want to believe he is up in heaven with Momma, Granny and Pappa! Larry had the kindest heart and could remember everybody's birthday. I didn't know that he could sing. (And He was Really GOOD)! David and I were lucky enough to even dance to one of his songs. God Blessed us with many fond memories. Hold them close to your heart. I will be thinking of you. When David and I come to Fla. we will come and see you! Love you all! Susan and David Forsyth

When I met Larry in the local DAV he mentioned that I was the first Scotch man he had ever met, I pointed out that I was Scots not a whisky drink. Little was I to know how warm our friendship would develop over the years. Lily and I will sorely miss his jokes and helpful manner, Ellen and family God Bless, sorry we cannot be over to the Memorial, will listen for his Country singing. Love to all, Lily/George ✝

My Dearest Paw Paw,

There are no words that can describe the heartache I feel. I could write 10 pages and still go on. No one can ever replace you. My life would not have been the same without you in it. Your humor gave me tummy aches as far back as I can remember, like when you used to scare my friends and I by taking out your teeth, and always
cracking jokes. I'll never forget spending the summers with you, Maw Maw , and Lare. I hope you liked the last meal I cooked for you, because it has became Masons favorite. One of my dreams in life was making sure my grandparents were in attendance at my wedding, that dream came true. I know you aren't suffering anymore and probably breathing deeper than you ever have, but I'm glad your passing was exactly like you would have wanted it. Peaceful. I held your hand until your very last breath and felt your last heartbeat. Your great grandsons love you more than you know! Mason took it pretty hard but I'm glad we were all there. I now wear a necklace with your name on it, which will soon hold your ashes. Maxwell kissed it today. Maddox asks if ghosts are real, so come visit us soon!

Thank you Paw Paw for always being so proud of me. Thanks for everything you have ever done for Maw Maw, Mom, Rick, Larry, Shannon, Greg, the boys and I. I didn't deserve a person so wonderful in my life!

I love you to the moon and back!
Kande

My Pappa G was one of a kind He influenced the lives of me and my boys. His Love for laugher helped us deal with life's difficulties He was never without something witty at the worst times My boys always committed on his style saying "Pappa G IS a Sharp Dressed Man." Never saw him un-groomed. Thanks Pappa G for being "OUR PAPPA G" I pray that the Family will continue to laugh even if through tears.

Ellen & Family~
I am so sorry for the loss of Your Loved one & our friend Larry (LG) to us.
He was always such a good friend and comedian to us. He could make you laugh when you didn't expect it. He had a heart of gold, would help you if you needed him, if he couldn't he would find someone who could!!
Loved his family more than life itself!!
If I introduced him to someone he made friends immediately. That tells you how he was.

I am saddened he is gone, but I know he is in a better place, with no more breathing problems. He had a Dr. who brought him back to us more than once,to give him more time.
I can't mess his hair up anymore, but I will remember all the good times we all had, from the beach parties to Thanksgiving at your house. He didn't think twice about sharing his family with us when we came down with no family down there, he made sure we weren't alone on a special day.
So we have such good memories that we can lean on when we feel sad.
I hope you all will do the same, and God will give you peace in this difficult time you all are going through. Remember God will give you strength to help make it through,Just ask him, and no more suffering for LG. He is in a better place. God is there to help you through such a sad time.
Love to all of you, see you in November.

I didn't get to see my Uncle Larry as much as I would have like to. But when I did he always had a joke or some funny stories to tell. It brings me comfort to know that he is with my mom in heaven. Until we all see each other again, I will cherish those memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Love, Terresa
