Marcus F. "Mark" Raye

Marcus "Mark" F. Raye, Jr., 52, Bradenton, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Mark was preceded in death by his father Marcus F. Raye, Sr. and a sister, Marsha Selman. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cathy, children: Christopher (Theresa) of Gainesville, Fla., Justin of Bradenton and Memphis, Tenn., and Shelby of Bradenton; mother, Shirley (John) Raye-Gause of Bradenton and a brother, Keith Raye of Winston-Salem, NC., and many extended family members, close friends, and acquaintances. Mark was born in Bartow, Florida on February 12, 1959 and attended Manatee High School, Manatee Junior College, and University of South Florida. He was comptroller for Hunsader Farms for 15 years. Mark was a former member of the Bradenton Jaycees and the Hernando DeSoto Historical Society. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing. The family will receive friends on Friday, Febru-ary 10, 2012 from 6-8p.m. at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 9:30a.m. in the main sanctuary of Ss. Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church, 2850 75th St. W., Bradenton, Fl.
