Margaret Gaisser Obituary

Margaret (Sue) Gaisser, 69, of Bradenton, FL, passed away July 9, 2008 after a frief illness. The daughter of Walter and Irene Hanss, she was born in Rochester NY in 1964, she moved with her husband to Alfred, NY where they raised their five children. Once the children reached school age, Sue returned to school and completed her nursing degree, after which she worked for 20 years as a registered nurse, both private duty and for the State University of New York at Alfred. On retirement, she moved in 1998 to Longboat Key, FL, finally settling in Bradenton in 2005. A loving and devoted mother, Sue was active with her family's activities, volunteering as leader for her children's Boy Scout and Campfire Girls groups. Active in her church, she served as sacristant for St. Brendan's Roman Catholic Church in Almond, NY and three terms on the Parish Council. On moving to Florida, Sue became an active member in St. Mary's Catholic Church Women's Guild, where she served as an officer for several years and chaired several fund raisers. Moving to Bradenton, she became a regular communicant at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church while still maintaining her membership in St. Mary's Women's Guild. Until her illness, she had been active with the Bradenton Opera Guild and the Sarasota Ballet Association. She enjoyed hosting ballet Dancer suppers at the Asolo Theatre and the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center. An accomplished photographer, she won numerous awards for her nature photography. She was also an accomplished violinist and organist, instilling in her family a love of all types of music. Sue is survived by her husband, Arthur Gaisser of Bradenton, FL; three brothers, Walter Hanss (San Antonion, TX), James Hanss (Rochester, NY), and Gerard Hanss (Rochester, NY); five children, James Gaisser (Cener Sandwish, NH), David Gaisser (Gainesville, FL), Mark Gaisser (Brockport, NY), Teresa Gaiser (Auburn, NY), and Anne Holmok (Alfred, NY); and nine grandchildren. Services will be held in Alfred, NY, followed by internment in Rohester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Socity. Brown & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory 26th Street Chapel in charge.

Dear Gaisser Family,
