Bradenton, Florida - The Shannon Family is heartbroken to announce the passing of their beloved son and brother, Mathew Joseph Shannon. Mathew, 37, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023, in Bradenton, FL, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. A battle he fought with as much courage, dignity and selflessness as is humanly possible. Mathew was born in Fort Collins, CO, on August 31, 1986, moving to Bradenton in 1993 where he called home for the next 30 years. During the ensuing years, he made many a friend in Manatee County and left an indelible impression on all of them. He is survived by his mother, Rebecca, father, Michael; brothers and sisters; Steven, Cady, Sean, Jenny, and Brian (Shannon); nephew, Chase; and his life partner, Jamie and her son, Jayden. Mathew had a brilliant mind and was a lover of life. Mathew knew how to live life to the fullest with every sense of the word. He was the most determined, motivated, loyal, and strong-willed person in the room. He was a lover of nature both here on earth and the deepest reaches of the universe. He will be forever missed.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM, Friday, September 22, 2023, at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL, 34209. Graveside Service will be 1:30 PM, Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Historic Palma Sola Cemetery, 8604 9th Avenue NW, Bradenton, FL 34209. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 PM, October 15, 2023, at the Manatee River Garden Club, 3120 1st Avenue West, Bradenton, FL, 34205. Condolences may be made to www.brownandsonsfuneral.com.
