Roger Valade Obituary

Roger N. Valade, 83, of Bradenton, passed away December 21, 2005.

A native of Bridgewater, Mass., Mr. Valade moved to the area 15 years ago from Pawtucket, R.I. He owned and operated Provost and Valade Plastering in Rhode Island. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening. Following his retirement, he enjoyed playing cards and shuffleboard with his friends. Mr. Valade was a US Navy Veteran of W.W.II and a recipient of the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal (5 stars).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Selina (Willette) Valade. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; four children, Elaine Brown of Alexandria, Va., Gary Valade of No. Attleboro, Mass., Norman Valade of Pawtucket, R.I., and Cathy Valade of Narragansett, R.I.; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Phyllis Kaye of Sarasota, Fla., Irene DiSaia of Waterford, Conn., and Barbara Conley of Pawtucket.

A visitation for family and friends will be held today from 3-6p.m. at Palms Funeral Home in Sarasota. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Palms Memorial Park.
