Steven D. Rickert

Steven D. Rickert Steven D. Rickert, born October 8, 1953, passed away May 18, 2018 after a long hard battle with cancer. He graduated from Sarasota High School in 1971 and attended The University of Florida. He had retired from Verizon (GTE), after 30 years of service. As a young adult he loved playing tennis and in his later year played golf. He truly loved his family dearly. He believed that education was an important thing to have for all of his children and grandchildren. He was a past member of Sertoma, was a member of Speakers Bureau of Manatee County, as a young man he was involved with De Molay of Sarasota. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Mary Jane Rickert. He leaves behind is wife of 40 years, Heidi Rickert; his 2 children, Cheryl Hammond (Christopher Hammond), Bryan Rickert, (Michelle Rickert); sister, Christine Teel; 5 grandsons, Tyler Lake, Payton Hammond, Gideon Rickert, Gabriel Rickert, Nathaniel Rickert; 2 step-granddaughters, Noel Burke and Kara Marcus. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00AM Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Bridge Church of Palma Sola located at 4000 75th St W, Bradenton. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel in charge of arrangements.
