Barbara Transue Obituary
She was born June 6, 1957 in Kane.
She graduated Smethport Area High Jr. Sr High School in 1975, and graduated Clarion University in 1993 with a degree in Special Education.
She taught school in Ridgway Area School District, Wellsville School District, IU9 in Smethport and Emporium Area School District, and retired from the Smethport Area Jr. Sr. High School in 2019.
She had a profound influence on many students throughout her years of teaching.
Barb enjoyed many things in her life, her biggest enjoyment was her nieces and nephews, as well as sewing, crafting, and singing. Barb went by many names. Ms. "T", Aunt "B Bub", and "Bubba." She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, counselor, companion, friend and mother to many.
In addition to her mother, Carole of Hazel Hurst, she is survived by a sister, Mary Porter and a brother Russell Transue, stepbrothers John Walker and Jim Walker, all from Hazel Hurst. She also had many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Terrance L. Transue and her father, William Harvey Transue, along with a stepsister, Jacqueline Davis Cartwright.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Smethport, on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Vincent Cieslewicz, pastor as celebrant.
Online condolences can be expressed at www.hartle-tarboxfuneralhomes.com and contributions can be made to the Barb Transue Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Hamlin Bank in Smethport.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., Smethport.

What a special person we have ALL lost. The world got a little darker when Barb´s light burned out on the 6th. I´m fortunate to have seen her recently and to have gotten one of her great hugs. She was loved by all who knew her and she loved many. I´ll miss
