Cynthia Lindsay Obituary
Born May 14, 1934, in Jamestown, N.Y., she was a daughter of James M. and Lela R. Strait Reese. On Dec. 24, 1953, in Port Allegany, she married Harlan R. Lindsay, who died Oct. 19, 2023. They were married 69 years.
Cynthia worked at North Penn Gas Co., Port Allegany, then with Goin McCoy & Dan Lane, Port Allegany, and G.L. Carlson Inc. from 1986 to 2014. She was also instrumental in the management of the family farm, Linson Dairy Farm, Turtlpoint, from 1955 to 1986.
She was a member of Birch Grove Mennonite Church of Port Allegany, and the former Rebeccah Lodge, Port Allegany.
Cynthia enjoyed bowling, traveling and camping.
Surviving are five sons, Michael H, (Barb) Lindsay of Port Allegany, Thomas B. (Judith) Lindsay and Douglas S. (Julie) Lindsay, both of Turtlepoint, Daniel F. (Tammy) Lindsay of Port Allegany and Kyle L. (Kelley) Lindsay of Dalton; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several cousins.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday (Jun. 2, 2024) at Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (Jun. 3, 2024) at Birch Grove Mennonite Church with the Rev. Dale Detweiler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Annin Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint.
Memorials can be made to Birch Grove Mennonite Church or the American Cancer Society.
