Fredrick Flick

SALAMANCA, N.Y. - Fredrick Flick, 81, of Salamanca, died Monday (Jan. 1, 2018) at Cuba Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.
Born on Dec. 29, 1936 in Salamanca, he was the son of the late Edward Flick and Matilda Haas. He was married on Nov. 10, 1979 to the former Grace Null, who predeceased him on Dec. 22, 2011.
Mr. Flick was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army as well as a U.S. Army Reservist for over 40 years, where he was deployed to Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm.
He was employed for over 50 years in the grocery industry and was associated with Bells, Loblaws and Jubilee Markets working in Salamanca and Bradford, Pa.
Mr. Flick enjoyed the outdoors, both hunting and fishing, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and trips to the casinos. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296 and United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1500.
Surviving are: two daughters, Rose (Cliff) Stone of Salamanca and Sara (Sam) Nolf of Bradford; three stepdaughters, Jamie Bach and Brenda (Richard) Windus, both of Salamanca, and Judy (Wayne) Yaw of Mount Holly Springs, Pa.; a stepson, James (Lynne Maynard) Torrence Jr. of Franklinville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Haas of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the Rev. Michael Lonto, pastor of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, officiating.
Full military honors will be conducted at the funeral home after the funeral by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca.
