June Wilcox Obituary

PORT ALLEGANY - June Wilcox, 69, of Carthage, N.C., formerly of Port Allegany, died Monday (June 27, 2016) in the First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, N.C.
She was born June 20, 1947, in Port Allegany, a daughter of Horatio and Lula Curtis Wilcox.
A native of Port Allegany, Ms. Wilcox was a graduate of Port Allegany High School.
June was a driven entrepreneur, who started and operated several successful businesses in her lifetime including J&B's furniture and TJ's wholesale distributing company.
She is survived by two daughters, Tamara (Jim) Harkins and Melissa (Jason) Manning; two sons, Jeffrey Jones and Douglas (Jill) Jones; three sisters, Myrtle Upthegrove Lovell, Joyce Wilcox and Geraldine Rush; one brother, Glenn Wilcox; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She also leaves behind two canine companions that she loved dearly, "Shelby" and "Mitzi."
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Dynda; and four brothers, Duane Wilcox, Morris Wilcox, Richard Wilcox and Roger Wilcox.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., 105 N. Main St., Port Allegany. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Randall Headley, pastor of the Port Allegany United Methodist Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in her honor.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., Port Allegany.
