Leo Gee Obituary

OCALA, Fla. - Leo John Gee, 85 of Summerfield, passed away unexpectedly in Sanford on Friday (May 30, 2014).
Leo was born in Bradford, Pa., and moved to this area in 1990 from Miami after retiring from Eastern Airlines after 18 years. Leo was a 21-year veteran of the Air Force and retired as a master sergeant. He enjoyed model railroads, classic cars, doing home renovations, wood working, photography and loved aviation.
Leo is preceded in death by two children, son, Leo Ray Gee; and a daughter, Kerri Anne Gee.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Betty Gee of Summerfield; sons, Kim (Leann) Gee of High Point, N.C., and Tory (Lori) Gee of Ocala; daughter, Trisha Keating of Grimes, Iowa; brother, Francis "Babe" Gee of Bradford; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of many friends.
There will be a gathering from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Roberts Funeral Homes, Downtown Chapel, 606 SW 2nd Ave. All are welcome to come and share with the family. There will be a service honoring and celebrating Leo's life at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel. All are welcome to attend and celebrate with the family. The committal service will be at Florida National Cemetery with the Air Force rendering honors to Leo.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the leukemia society and the March of Dimes of your choice in memory of Leo.
Funeral arrangements are by the Roberts Funeral Homes, Downtown Chapel, Ocala.

My father spoke often of growing up amongst the hills of Brafdord. He and my mother returned often for high school reunions. He never forgot his roots. I picture him watching the grand steam locomotives roaring through the valley there when he was a young boy. He spoke of it so often. We miss him terribly.
