Marie Rezmerski Obituary

JOHNSONBURG - Marie H. Rezmerski, 95, of 405 Shawmut Ave., Johnsonburg, died Monday (March 5, 2018) evening at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 3, 1922, in St. Marys. On Oct. 8, 1949, in St. Marys Church, St. Marys, she married Stanley F. "Tinch" Rezmerski. He died Dec. 22, 1999.
Mrs. Rezmerski was a World War II Army veteran, having served as a T/5 surgical technician with the 9955th TS Unit, Surgeon General's Office, WB General Hospital.
Surviving are three sons and four daughters, Stanley F. Rezmerski Jr. of Kane, Mark R. (Mary Ann) Rezmerski of Ridgway, Lance D. (Jama) Rezmerski of Johnsonburg, Doris (George) Thorwart of Wilcox, Patricia M. (Paul) Brehm of St. Marys, Donna L. (Charles "Chuck") Zameroski of Caledonia and Carol A. (Steve) Iorfido of Johnsonburg; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Leo Simbeck of St. Marys; and sisters-in-law, Donna Simbeck of St. Marys and Maxine Gardner of Simi Valley, Calif.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son: Joseph Michael in infancy; grandson: Michael Rezmerski; brothers: Aaron, Robert and Richard Simbeck; and sisters: Ruth Meier, Ethel Barnes, Edna Straub and Henrietta Roussey.
Visitation will be private.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, with the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Johnsonburg Servicemen's Detail. Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Saturday.
If desired, memorial contributions should be made to Community Nurses Inc., 757 Johnsonburg Rd., St. Marys, PA 15857 or the Johnsonburg Senior Center, 430 Center St., Johnsonburg, PA 15845.
