Michael Kennedy Obituary

KANE - Michael J. Kennedy, 19, of 641 E. Center St., Johnsonburg, died early Sunday morning (Aug. 11, 2013) due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Kane.
Born Aug. 21, 1993, in Kronach, Germany, he was the son of Joseph C. and Tanja L. Kirch Kennedy.
A 2012 graduate of Johnsonburg High School, he was employed by Kane Manufacturing. Michael belonged to Tabor Lutheran Church in Kane, the Grey Knights Drum & Bugle Corps in Johnsonburg, and had been a member of the Ruffed Grouse Society.
Surviving, in addition to his parents of Johnsonburg, are his stepmother, Barbie Umpleby Kennedy of Johnsonburg; a brother, Christopher Kennedy, and a sister, Carmellia Pratt, both of Johnsonburg; grandmother Connie Kennedy of Johnsonburg, grandparents Buster and Shirley Kennedy of James City, plus grandparents Ruth and Edgar Kirch in Germany and great-grandmother Ottielie Jungkunz in Germany; a step-grandfather, Harold Umpleby of Kane; plus several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home Inc. in Kane and are invited to a service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Tabor Lutheran Church, 200 Dawson St., Kane, with the Rev. Bill Waterman, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Johnsonburg Vo-Ag Program or to the Johnsonburg Area High School, both c/o Judy Allegretto, 315 High School Road, Johnsonburg, PA 15845.
