Pauline Goochee Obituary
Born Jan. 22, 1951, in Central Falls, R.I., she was a daughter of Leo and Yvonne Charpentier Boucher. On June 4, 1984, in Chaffee, N.Y., she married James E. Goochee, who survives.
Pauline was a longtime area resident and a graduate of Jamestown Community College, Olean, N.Y., with a bachelor's in nursing. She had been employed with several area healthcare facilities, but most recent with the Potter County Office of Aging, before her retirement.
She was a member of Port Allegany Alliance Church and Port Allegany Moose Lodge 460, a former EMT with Port Area Ambulance Service and a volunteer at many Potter County senior centers.
Surviving in addition to her husband, James, are a daughter, Denise S. Proctor of Eldred; a son, Michael A. (Josie) Lamont of Eldred; five grandchildren; a brother, David (Jeanne) Boucher of Falls River, Mass.; two sisters, Susan Deroun and Denise Langrois, both of Pawtucket, R.I.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later time and place to be announced.
Memorials can be made to Port Allegany Alliance Church or Port Area Ambulance Service.
Funeral arrangements are under direction of Switzer Funeral Home.

Oh, the fun and giggles we shared when we worked together at Human Services. Our jobs were not always easy when we had to comfort the people who were very ill or dying or their family members left behind. Pauline would hold the people and I would pray. Many times we then went outside, held each other and cried. It was not an easy job, but we never thought it would be. But we knew it was a needed job. We will meet again some day my beloved friend. Don't give up on me.
