Sheryl Sirianni Obituary

KANE - Sheryl L. Sirianni, 74, of Highland Road, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, (Feb. 1, 2023) at UPMC Hamot.
She was born July 11, 1948 in Kane, daughter of the late John and Alice Irons Chubon. She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Chubon-Hall; son-in-law, Kenneth VanGiesen; and her beloved dachshund, Buddy.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Frank and their four children; Alison Sirianni of Berea, Ohio, Matthew (Aimee) Sirianni of Kane, Erin Sirianni of Erie and Jeanna (Adam) Blint of Portersville. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Derek, Andy, Claire, Colin, Camden, Jackson and Nora.
She was a Kane High graduate of the Class of 1966. She married her high school sweetheart in 1967 and began a 20-year Air Force journey which took them all over the world. They started their family with the birth of Alison in San Antonio, Texas, followed by the birth of Matthew in Montgomery, Ala. Erin was then born in Tampa, Fla. and Jeanna was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y.
Sherry was a two-time kidney transplant recipient, with her first transplanted kidney at the age of 22 donated by her mother, Alice. That kidney lasted over 40 years. Her second transplanted kidney was donated by family friend, Ron Duffley.
She was a proud stay at home mother. In her years, she held various jobs around Kane, such as, Quality Markets, IU9, Head Start, Roma Gardens and running an in-home day care. She was the owner of the Ivy Cottage and loved holding craft classes and selling at craft shows. She was active with her daughters in Girl Scouts, a member of the Beta Sigma Phi, and the local Red Hats Society.
In her retirement years, she and Frank enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada in their RV, visiting all but two states in the US. Sherry had a love for Mexican food and loved stopping for a meal whenever she had the chance.
Special thanks to the Warren DaVita Dialysis team and the doctors and nurses at UPMC Hamot.
Friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Cummings Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Callistus Catholic Church, with the Rev. William O'Brien as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Callistus Cemetery.
