William Frantz Obituary

William Ronald Frantz, 70, of 30 Lorana Ave., passed away Saturday (March 1, 2014) at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 13, 1943, in Bradford, he was a son of the late William C. Frantz and Barbara A. Wright Frantz, who survives. On May 14, 1988, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he married Marlene Larson Frantz, who also survives.
He was a 1963 graduate of Bradford High School. After high school, he worked for Zippo Manufacturing Co. for a time then moved to Pittsburgh and worked as a mechanic for a few years. He returned to Bradford and returned to work as a laborer for Zippo for more than 35 years, retiring in 2005.
He was a member of the West Branch United Methodist Church. He was an avid bird watcher, loved woodworking, hunting and fishing. He was also an assistant baseball coach for Little League for a time.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three children, Sue (Mark) Courteau of Prior Lake, Minn., Carol Frantz-Monroe of Pasadena, Md., and Mark (Chriss) Frantz of Fremont, Neb.; three stepchildren, Kimberly (Phil) MacIintosh of Fair Oaks, Calif., Melissa (Chris) Beer of Rixford and Wanda Barnard of Orangevale, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Terry L. Frantz of Rew and Martin "Mick" Frantz of Bradford; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Ann Frantz; and a nephew, Cody Frantz.
Private funeral services will be held in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, South Avenue, with the Rev. Matt Blake, pastor of the Bradford Area Parish, officiating. 
Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
