Agnes Bates Obituary

Agnes E. Bates 1921 - 2009 WALPOLE, N.H. Agnes E. Bates, 88, of School Street died July 4, 2009, at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, N.H. She was born in Walpole on Jan. 16, 1921, the daughter of Earl and Mary Tollerton Fuller. On Sept. 29, 1941, she married Guy (John) Bates Jr. Mrs. Bates lived in Bellows Falls, Vt., from 1941 to 1995 and worked with her husband, Guy, at Bates TV from 1969 to 1985. She leaves her daughter, Shirley Bates Thomson and son-in-law, Harry Thomson of Walpole; two sisters, Mary Beam of Newton, and Josephine Keefe of Bellows Falls, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John, and by her sister, Geraldine Claflin. FUNERAL NOTICE: There will be a graveside service on Thursday, July 9, at 2 p.m. in the Walpole Cemetery in Walpole. Donations may be made in her memory to Maplewood Nursing Home Activities Fund, 201 River Road, Westmoreland, NH 03467. Arrangements are under the supervision of FENTON & HENNESSEY FUNERAL HOME.
