Edward Cray Obituary

GRANVILLE, N.Y. -- Edward M. Cray, 56, formerly of Westminster and Brattleboro, Vt., died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, in Glens Falls Hospital.

Mr. Cray was born in Holyoke, Mass., on May 2, 1947, the son of Edward W. And Mary T. (Fitzgerald) Cray. He was a 1965 graduate of the Brattleboro High School and the Culinary Institute of America in New Haven, Conn.

Mr. Cray served in the Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated the Westminster Motor Inn in Westminster, Vt., from 1975-1984. He was most recently owner and chef of the School House Restaurant in Granville. He was a member of the Granville Rotary and American Legion.

In 1971 in Brattleboro, he married Muriel (Landry) Cray who survives. Besides his wife of Granville, he is survived by three daughters, Chantel Cray of Oxford, Pa., Kimberly Wiedrich of Phoenix and Kelly Cray of Allegheny College, Pa.; two brothers, James Cray of East McKeesport, Pa., and William Cray of Brattleboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Dear Muriel,

I just hear the very sad news.I think of you all often, and sure will miss that crazy fool. The Westminster Resturant was some of the best times of my life. My prayers are with you and the girls.
