Logan P. Spaulding (Logey Bear) left us way too early on April 7th, 2016, at 20 years old. Anyone who knew him knew how much he genuinely cared for his family and friends. There was nothing he would not do for anyone. Whether it was one of his big bear hugs, one of his impulsive comments or his laughter you could hear from miles away, he always seemed to find a way to light up the room. Their hurt was his hurt, and their happiness was his happiness. Over the years he went from being a rowdy, misunderstood boy to everyone's peacekeeper. He surprised many that doubted him by obtaining his GED with extremely high scores, weeks before his class graduated. Logan's true passion was playing basketball. He went from shadowing his older brother to challenging him on the court. Logan started his team career playing in the Rec League with Jeff Wilson as his coach. Due to the care, understanding and coaching Jeff provided, Logan stayed committed to the game. His passion evolved to him being a star player for Connecticut Valley Fever AAU basketball, coached by Mike Eno. Logan looked forward to the long weekends on the road, knowing that he was on his way to play the game he loved with people who understood him in ways no one else could. Logan never did anything halfway, he loved so deeply and selflessly that he often forgot to care for himself. He was always looking to protect whoever it may be that needed him, especially when it came to his sister. Logan leaves behind his parents, Rhonda (Lockerby) Spaulding and Walter Spaulding, his brother Justin, and sister Kelsey. Grandmother Carol Spaulding. Aunts and uncles include Renae and Leslie White, Christine Spaulding and Colin Smith, Robert and Susan Lockerby, Jeremy and Becky Spaulding, Randy and Flo Lockerby, Phillip and Eva Spaulding. Logan's cousins include Ashley, Amber and Joe White, Sophia Hyslop, Bryce, Bailey, Logan and Makayla Smith, Courtney, Meghan and David Lockerby, Meghan and Murray Spaulding, Jessica and Marissa Lockerby, Phillip, Bruce and JR Spaulding. Extended family and friends include Lexi Dodge, Bruce Wells, Amy Bumford-Rawling and Zachary Rawling, and so many more. Logan will be joining his "Sugar Grammy" Helen Lockerby Connor, Grandpa David Lockerby, and Grandfather Charles Spaulding. FUNERAL SERVICE: Calling hours will be held at Fenton & Hennessey Thursday April 14th, from 6-8PM. Funeral services will be 10am Friday April 15th at F&H followed by a burial service at Burgess Cemetery in Grafton, VT. Reception begins at 1:OOPM at the American Legion Post 37.
