I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your dear daughter, Melissa. May Almighty God help you both during this most difficult time of your life. You are both in my thoughts and prayers daily. I did not know Melissa personally, but knew from her close friends that she was totally full of spirit and a giving person and will be missed by many. With Sincere Sympathy, Carol Austin

I knew Missy from Kindergarten, until we graduated from Leland & Gray in 1984. Twenty years have passed since I have laid eyes on her. My mother has kept me updated on her battle with cancer. From what I have heard, she battled it with grace and dignity.
When I knew her, she had a passion for living life to it's fullest, and the ideal of never letting things defeat her, even when it seemed insurmountable. These things I greatly admired, although I never voiced it. She had Spirit!
These qualities I have long since adopted for myself.
I will now consider this her legacy.
Thanks Missy for the inspiration!
May this legacy be yours also.
May time comfort and heal you all.
My condolences go out from myself and my family, to all of you!

Phil, Gaige, Bob, Jane, Becky and Bob Jr., My thoughts are all with you at this time. I keep thinking back three plus years ago. I was invited to Ricks by Missy for lunch. Becky and Jane joined us. we not only shared our cancer stories, Missy sent me away and back to FLorida with a sense of peace and more courage than I had ever known. I will be forever grateful to her for that day. I hope her courage gives you all peace in the days and months ahead.
