Raymond Perkins Obituary

Raymond Perkins 1931-2011 BRATTLEBORO Raymond E. Perkins, 80, longtime resident of Brattleboro, VT died peacefully September 7, 2011 at Pine Heights Nursing Home following a period of declining health. Raymond was born on February 13, 1931 in Brattleboro, the son of Clyde and Ruth Perkins. He attended school in Brattleboro. He enjoyed his work as a farmer in Brandon and later was employed by Elliot St. Market, Cersosimo Lumber, the Brattleboro Retreat, and Larry Cooke. He loved collecting model toy tractors. Raymond enjoyed getting to know people, and everyone in Brattleboro seemed to know him. He was a kind and generous man. Raymond is survived by one sister, Virginia Welch, and three brothers, Howard Perkins, David Perkins, and Norman Perkins, all of Brattleboro, many nieces and nephews, as well as his caregivers, Melanie and Phil Jones. He was predeceased by one sister, Cora Winter. FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service will be held at North Cemetary in Vernon on Friday, September 16 at 2 p.m. with a reception following the service at 32 Village Dr, Mountain Home Trailer Park in Brattleboro. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, September 20 at 3:30 p.m. on the fourth floor of Pine Heights Nursing Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ker Westerlund Funeral Home.
