Tom was the consummate gentleman and friend. If you spent any time talking to him, at work, as a volunteer, as a community member or as a young skier at Hogback you knew he would be there for a future conversation. He was fully present and committed to always being helpful. You had to like and admire Tom Johnson.
To the family you had a genuine friend and role model.
My condolences at this time.

"Cousin Tommy" was an elegant, wise and truly compassionate man. The community was a better place with him in it.

Oh how sad it is to think of Dummerston without Tom in it. I am so grateful for all he's done for others, his gentle spirit and ready smile. He will be sincerely missed and most certainly not forgotten.

My condolences to Barbara and all of Tom's family and network of caregivers, as well as all the people who benefited from the many businesses, organizations and offices in which he was involved. I just ran across a very nice article about Tom, Barbara, history, published in the Autumn 2004 issue of Vermont Life, written by Joyce Marcel: Deep Roots in Dummerston. With it is a beautiful full-page photo of Tom and Barb, a loving and committed couple for over 60 years! Peace to all of you. -- Sue
