Alfred Ogonowski Obituary

NEW RBITAIN

Alfred Ogonowski, 75 of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Sep. 15, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. Alfred was born in Wielodrz, Poland, son of the late Edmund and Jzefa (Orzol) Ogonowski. He came to the United States when he was 30 years old. He married Elzbieta (Ferenc) and started their life together in Farmington where they raised 3 wonderful children; Christine (Griffin), Christopher, and Thomas (Lauren).

Alfred worked for Jacobs Vehicle Systems for many years, where he made Jake brake parts for Cummins. He loved spending his free time outside gardening and enjoyed traveling numerous times with his family to Poland and Florida.

He was predeceased by his parents Edmund and Jzefa and brother Leon. He also leaves behind his sisters Agnes (Mike), Maria (Zygmunt), Ana (Andrzej), and brother Eugeniusz, aunt Otylia (Jan), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St., New Britain, CT 06053. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
