Carl Wusterbarth Obituary

BIRSTOL

Carl Wusterbarth, 80, a proud Bristol native, died on Wednesday (September 25, 2024). Born December 29, 1943, to Edward and Alma Wusterbarth, he spent nearly his entire life in Bristol. In high school, he took pride in running cross country and track, getting a scholarship to Kansas University, where he attended briefly before entering the United States Army. He served in the Vietnam War before coming back to Bristol where he settled down to raise a

family. He lived for nearly 38 years in the family's house on King Street, hosting numerous family cookouts and a few horseshoe tournaments, even putting a half-basketball court in the backyard. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gayle Wusterbarth, his sons Kent, Charles, Steven, and Eric, as well as several grandchildren and a couple of great-grandchildren. His service with military honors will be held at his burial site at the State of Connecticut Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT on Thursday (October 3, 2024) at 1 p.m.. Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol is honored to serve the family and will accept flowers by Thursday to transport to the cemetery.
