Dorsey Laprise Obituary

BRISTOL

Dorsey J. Laprise, 84, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Bristol Hospital surrounded by his family. Dorsey was born on May 11, 1939 in St. Jacques, Quebec, Canada and was the son of the late William and Beatrice (Houde) Laprise.

Dorsey came to Bristol early on in his life and settled in Bristol where he became a talented carpenter retiring from Architectural Building Systems of Hartford. He loved the outdoors. You could find him always walking his dogs, listening to country music and fiddle players, restoring tractors and watching old cowboy movies on the television. Dorsey was also a parishioner of St. Ann Church in Bristol. But most of all, he was a true family man. Spending time with family whether going to his native Quebec for family reunions, visiting his sister in Maryland or being with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was happiest being with them. Dorsey is survived by his companion of 34 years, Dolly Pierce, his children; Lynn Dionne and her husband Danny, Richard Laprise of Bristol, Gary Laprise and his wife Gert of Burlington, Dale Laprise and his wife Roxanne of Bristol. He also leaves behind his grandchildren; Jennifer, Tina, Renee, Kayla, Stephanie, Audrey, Andrew, Madison, William, four great-granddaughters, one great-grandson and his extended family, Darlene, Zach, Ashley and her family. Dorsey is also survived by his two sisters; Williete Hammond of Maryland and Ginette Laprise of Canada and his former wife Carmen Laprise of Bristol. He was predeceased by four brothers; Rejean, Patrick, Jacques and Jean-Yves and by three sisters; Doris Aldieri, Lise Begin and Francoise Poirier. A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorsey will be celebrated on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.in St. Ann Church, 215 West St., Bristol, CT 06010. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 5-8 PM at the Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT 06010. Dad
my heart is crying so hard inside that I can´t breath . Thank you for the times we spent together . these past years have been so meaningful to me , you calling me because I hadn´t called you and you saying
" hey you didn´t call me " hearing your laughter on the other end of the phone made my day you where my new phone
" girl friend " with gossip about what you have done without the
Boys knowing because you would knew you´d be in trouble by them . We would literally talked for a long 30 mins which is amazing to me because you hate the phone . Your most recent adventure was to drive your car just a week ago around the block when you knew you couldn´t do that and you chuckling about it . You made me laugh too that was your last hurrah! And I don´t blame you .
Please know that I will miss you so much my heart is lost right now but I know I´ll see you again
You can count that ! Say hello to everyone for me and spoil all those family dogs for all of us
May God Bless You Dad
I love you Lynn
