Eleanor Mercier Obituary

BRISTOL

Eleanor K. Mercier, 96, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on September 24th, surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew Mercier, and bothers William Stevens Jr., Richard Stevens, and William Steele.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Allen) Clavette, Mary (John) Vavra and Andrea (David) Chapman; grandchildren, Jill (Daniel) Colavolpe, Katie Carpentier, David (Pamela) Chapman, and Alijah Chapman; great-grandchildren, Cierra Colavolpe, Mar ODonnell, Jack Colavolpe, Abbey Carpentier, Elena Mendez, Logan Chapman and Jaxin Staton and her brothers; Scott (Sandy) Steele, John Steele, Mark (Terri) Steele, and Matthew (Raven) Stevens.

She will be remembered as a talented local businesswoman and florist, owner and operator of The Basket Place in Bristol, for over 50 years. Most importantly, she was the

unwavering strength and heart of our family, a true matriarch whose love, loyalty, and devotion shaped generations. Her example taught us all the immeasurable value of family and the enduring power of devotion.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 30th 11 a.m.-1p.m., at DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to leave a condolence message by visiting www.dupontfuneralhome.com

Eleanor was a friend, a neighbor and a gifted florist. Craig & I were blessed to know her. I had the opportunity to work for her as her delivery driver for a while and hear her many life stories. We will miss her so much. We love you Eleanor.
