Gail Straun Obituary

BRISTOL

Gail M. (Mailhot) Straun, 66, of Bristol, beloved wife of Grady M. Gabe Straun, passed away on Wednesday (July 10, 2024) at Bristol Hospital. Gail was born on August 28, 1957, in Watertown and was a daughter of the late Raymond and Doris (Taillon) Mailhot. A lifelong Bristol resident, she graduated from St. Paul Catholic High School Class of 1975. After high school, she attended Johnson & Wales University. Gail worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Bristol Public Library until her retirement. Gail enjoyed crafts and had a talent for making cards and scrapbooking as well as being an enthusiastic reader. She adored animals, especially her cats and chickens. She loved children and cherished her nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband of 24 years, Gail is survived by her daughter: Meghan Blanchette and partner, Daryl Luff of Enfield; her stepson: Eric Straun of Bristol; five siblings: Thomas Mailhot of Bristol, Normand Mailhot of Sarasota, FL, Terri Mailhot of Bristol, Christopher Mailhot of Bristol, and Raymond Mailhot, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brother-in-law, Richard Straun of Bristol; sister-in-law: Terry Norton of Seekonk, MA; and several nieces

and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother: David Mailhot. With respect to Gail's wishes, all services and burial will be private. There are

so sorry to hear this..... I had not seen Gail in years, but had attended both ST Joseph and St Paul's with her as a classmate for 12 years! In grade school, she would frequently come to my house and sty for dinner.
