TERRYVILLE
Jean Guy Albert a Vietnam veteran, devoted provider, and proud grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 12th, 2025, at the age of 77 at the VA Medical Center in West Haven CT with family by his side. Born on October 21st, 1947, in St, Agatha ME Guy grew up on his parents' potato farm with his four brothers. He graduated Wisdom High School in 1966 before moving to CT in 1967. Guy lived a life marked by duty, perseverance, and strength. He served his country with honor in the Vietnam War with the 25th Infantry Division where he was awarded both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his bravery and sacrificecommendations he carried with pride throughout his life. After returning from Vietnam, he settled in Terryville and started his career as a Truck Driver at BW Brown. That first job as a young man left a lasting marknot just because it started a long and successful career, but because it's where he met many of the friends that he kept in touch with for decades. Those early days on the job were filled with long hours, laughter, and bonds that outlasted the road. Guy went on to work for other trucking companies before retiring from ABF Trucking in 2007, a company that he spent many years working and had great pride being a member of the Local 671 Teamster union. Guy was a diehard Red Sox fan who enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia, baseball cards and coins. In his younger years would
spend hours on Saturday afternoons making sure that his yard was just perfect. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Parish devoted to St. Anthony Church. For 54 years, he shared his life with his wife, Linda building a home grounded in commitment. Together, they raised three daughters Tracy, Amy and Dawn each of whom went on to build families of their own. Though he was not known for displays of affection, Guy took great pride in the lives his children created and held an especially tender place in his heart for his nine grandchildren who became his greatest joy in later years. While he could be a man of few words and often kept his emotions guarded, those who knew him recognized the strength of his loyalty and the depth of his pride in his familyespecially his grandchildren, whose achievements and personalities brought out a lightness in him not always seen. Guy is survived by his wife, Linda(Bossie) his daughters and sons-in-laws, Tracy Scarritt (David); Amy Lawson (Robert); Dawn Sowder (Matt); and his nine beloved grandchildren, Riley, Sage, Alayna, Wyatt, Quincy, Lyla, Callie, Daxton and Jadyn who were his pride and legacy. Brothers Bob(Sue) of Prospect; Richard of Bristol and Paul(Raymond) of Newington and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Aurelle and Lillian and brother: Roger Albert. Guy's wife and daughters invite family and friends to attend a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated on Saturday June 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 215 West St., Bristol.
