John Bonetta Obituary

John (Jay) Bonetta, our most beloved son, husband, brother, uncle, godfather and friend entered into eternal rest Aug. 20, 2021 at the age of 62 following a long illness.

Jay's never-ending love, loyalty and voice of reason will be deeply missed.

Jay led a purposeful and humble life always ready to lend an ear or extend a hand.

Jay was a true Bristolite. Jay enjoyed a long career as an educator in the Bristol school system. He served as co-editor of The Citizen, a local newspaper and for many years was active in city-wide volunteerism.

Jay leaves his wife Ann (McLaughlin) Bonetta who he profoundly loved along with a troop of cherished family and friends.

Jay was predeceased by his parents Betty and Ambrose Bonetta whom he adored and visited every day of his life prior to their passing.

We bid farewell to a great man whose mantra was "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol has the honor of serving Jay's family. All funeral services will be private per the request of the family.

Charitable donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic High School, Bristol, Conn. or to the Boys & Girls Clu b of Bristol. To leave an online condolence please visit Jay's memorial website at www.FunkFuneralHome.com
