Judith Bartley Obituary

WELLS, MAINE

Judith Judy Elsie (Prills) Bartley, 78, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Maine Medical in Portland, Maine. She was born November 16, 1946, in New Britain, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Edward and Elsie Prills.

Her greatest loves and most treasured gifts were her children Audra, Eric, and Jill and her grandchildren, Tyler, Amber, Addie, and Matthew. She passed on her love of sports and the beach to all of them. Her spirit, strength, and tenacity will live on through them.

Judy was born and raised in New Britain, Connecticut. She attended Pulaski High School. She was so proud that she was one of the first female lifeguards in Connecticut. She was also a phlebotomist, but made every sporting event that her children played. The role she loved the most was being a mother and grandmother.

Throughout her life, Judy was an avid gardener. She loved watching sports and shopping. Her favorite place was the beach: skipping rocks, taking evening walks, and finding heart shaped rocks. She cherished her time at Camp Calumet in New Hampshire. She enjoyed a good word search and watching game shows. She was known for her baked beans, which were a favorite at our family gatherings.

Judith is survived by her husband, Cary Bartley of Southington; her children Audra St. Onge and her husband Marc of Plainville, Eric Bartley of Litchfield, and Jill Ouellette and her husband Marc of Plainville; her grandchildren Tyler, Amber, Addie, and Matthew; her brother Alan Prills and wife Anne of Florida, along with several in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will be private.

My deepest condolences to Judith’s family. I didn’t know her well, but I drove her to church services at Ogunquit Baptist church a few times. She loved attending there. Rest in peace.
