Michael Morin Obituary
Michael J. Morin, age 78, passed away on March 1, 2025 after a long battle with dementia. Born October 7, 1946, in Bristol, CT to Julia and Roger Morin. Michael is proceeded into death by both parents, Roger (1969) and Julia (1996), as well as his loving wife Anne (2022). He is survived by his step-daughter, Kirsten and son-in-law Michael Baker and two grandchildren Will and Maggie of Suwanee, GA. Michael attended Bristol Eastern High School, playing football, baseball and wrestling. He was deeply engaged in the youth sports programs in Bristol which became a life-long passion for him. He graduated from Bates College in 1968, majoring in Sociology, and playing baseball and football. He returned to Bristol to become a beloved Social Studies teacher at Northeast Middle School where he taught for over 30 years and coached football at Bristol Eastern for over 20 years including the 1988 championship. He attended his Bates College 20th reunion where he re-met a classmate, Anne, who became his wife of over 30 years. Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 6, 2025 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday March 7, 2025 at 10 a.m. directly at St. Joseph Church, Queen St., Bristol, followed by a procession to St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol, CT. Mr. Morin was my teacher at Northeast Middle School. He was always so personable and always had a smile on his face. I'll always remember him. I'm so very sorry, to his family, for their immeasurable loss.

We shared the football field & wrestling mat for a couple of years at Eastern. He was a couple of years before me, but I do remember his infectious smile and personality in all the hallways, and I would occasionally meet up with him around the streets of Bristol, post BEHS.

I met Mike through my husband Ed in high school. Mike and Ed were on the football team together and were close friends. They went on to Bates one year apart along with good friend Mike Traverso also of our grad class. Mike was one year behind us. My memories of Mike are many...So sweet, so nice and a wonderful friend and son.

Mr. Morin was an excellent teacher. He is one of those teachers that really cared about his students. I have many fond memories from his classroom. I was a student of his back in the 99-00 year. To his family I am truly sorry for your loss. He will be missed for sure.

I served with Mike many years ago on the Bristol Youth Commission.
Mike was a gentleman who consistently advocated and cared about the youth of Bristol, and the kids wellbeing.
