BRISTOL
Patsy Anthony Nocera, 87, a man who embodied humor, kindness, and grace in everything he did, was called home peacefully to the Lord on May 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of his devoted family. Although his absence creates a deep void, his legacy, rich in profound love, laughter and compassion, will endure well beyond his lifetime through every person lucky enough to cross his path. Patsy, who was born on February 13, 1938, was beyond being a good man; he was remarkably consistent in treating every human with the same genuine love and respect. It was fitting that Patsy was a local businessman for over 65 years with Patsy Nocera's Barber Shop, Appletown Realty, and most recently Nocera Realty Group. This speaks to a man truly defined by the character he exhibited both personally and professionally. Patsy showed that same class and elegance with his family, friends, and his clients. Patsy was never one to self-promote or seek credit. His role model actions clearly spoke volumes and brought him peace of mind. He was the devoted husband to Dolores Cercone Nocera for 66 years. Together they shared a storybook lifetime of love throughout the best and the most challenging of times. They were the epitome of marriage, soulmates aligned in every way, bringing fulfillment to each other and everyone around them. They were the glue that kept the family together. Their days were filled with love, laughter, family dinners, and spontaneous vacations like the family Italy trip in 2009, along with the quiet moments that exhibited the strength in their bond. They set the gold standard with an unwavering devotion to family spirit. They enjoyed the simple life like traveling across the state to attend their kid's and grandkid's games, enjoying an intimate dinner out, or traveling all around the world. Patsy is survived by many in addition to Dolores, including his cherished brother James (Jimmy) and his sister-in-law Joline. Their lifelong brotherhood remained unwaveringly strong, and their presence was a constant part of the family throughout the years, particularly during the past few years of Patsy's life. Patsy was the proud father of four children, David, Joseph, Vinnie, and his most cherished daughter, Victoria. He welcomed their spouses, Sharon, Kelli, Denise, and Glenn into the family with open arms and loved them like his own. Together they formed the circle of trust that extended to his grandchildren and great grandchildren - Tony and his wife Nicole, Miranda and her husband Zach, Joey and his wife Alisha, Briana and her fiance David, Vinnie, Mathew, Michael, and Courtney. His great grandchildren, Josephine, Dame, Joseph, Francesca, and Cooper meant the world to him. He capitalized on every moment with them, always offering a joke, a hug, or a life lesson they will never forget. His nieces, Jodi and her husband Bob with their children Margaret, RJ, Andre, Jamie and her partner Bob with their children Elena, Ellie, and Jack, JoAnne and her son Antonio, Jill and her husband Scott with their children Kaija and Mila. They, along with numerous friends, brought him great joy and profound fulfillment. He forged a very special bond with his brother-in-law, Ed "Bimbo" Cercone along with his niece Christine and her family, Vin, Andrea, and Angelo, along with his nephew Mark with his wife, Nicole. He now rejoins his beloved parents, Margaret and Joseph, in-laws, David and Rose, and of course his unique and special grandsons, Andrew "AJ" and David "Jr." in eternal rest. Heaven just became so much brighter now with Patsy making them smile, laugh, and feeling the lasting peace, he carried on from earth. Patsy will always be perceived as the quiet leader that let his actions pave the way for others to follow. It would be hard pressed to know a better man. His selflessness and genuine love were truly not something that can easily be replicated. And for that we are forever grateful, and better humans because of him. Special thanks are given to the thoughtful caregivers and Bristol Hospital nurses and doctors that supported Patsy and his family. Although there will be no calling hours, there will be a special mass in celebration of his life at St. Mary's Star of the Sea, 145 Main Street, Unionville, CT on June 13 at 10 a.m., followed by a procession to St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the AJR Nocera Memorial Fund, Main Street Community Foundation, P.O. Box 2702, Bristol, CT 06011-2702 via check or online donation
