Paul Hines Obituary

Paul D. Hines (9/3/1955 - 8/16/2022) quietly gained his wings at home with his loving wife by his side.
He was a compassionate, humble, and respectful man. To know Paul was to love Paul. His wit and larger than life personality will leave a lasting legacy.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife where the two would spend hours hunting sea glass together by the ocean.
An avid marksman, Paul had a passion for nature and the hunt. The bow hunt trophies in his mancave were something out of a well-curated museum.
Serving for over 32 years with the Bristol Police Department, Paul retired in 2011 as Detective Sergeant. During his career he received several accolades, including Police Officer of the Year.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife and partner of 22 years, Barbara Stuopelis Hines, his brother Alan and his wife Karen Hines of Canton, MA, and his two nieces, Amanda Higgins and Kelly Hines of Boston, MA, and Paul's furry love, Tater.
Paul is predeceased by his parents Francis Jr. and Velma (Thibideau) Hines of Bristol.
The family would like to thank Hartford Healthcare Hospice for their care and compassion.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Paul's life for a ceremony on Sept. 11th at 11 a.m. at the Rockwell Park Amphitheater.

I can still see his smile, and hear his unique laugh like no one else had. Paul was the kind of guy that would go to the convalescent to visit my Mom when she was on her last days on this earth. My Parents used to play cards with Paul's parents, something that the kind of guy would never forget. Paul may be gone, but will never be forgotten

I am so sorry to hear that Paul passed away. Paul was a good friend of mine in high school. I used to go hunting with Paul in the Red Stone Hill / ESPN property area and somehow he always managed to get a grouse and we would only hear them fly away. He was one of the people who made my life so enjoyable growing up in Forestville. I haven't seen Paul for over forty years but my memories of our fun times seem like yesterday. I will say a prayer for Paul and hope he is in a good place.

Barbera,
Paul was like a big brother to me. A giant of a man, who will never be forgotten.
Paul was brave, funny, caring and extremely loyal. When Paul walked into a room, nothing was the same.
May he forever rest in peace, and may Paul's spirit live within you, and may his memory be a source of comfort to those who mourn.
R.I.P. my friend......
