Peter Charles Gaudet

1942 - 2022

On Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, Peter Charles Gaudet, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 80 after a hard fought battle with Parkinson's Disease. Pete was born on July 27, 1942 in Meriden to Albert and Irene Gaude. He received an engineering degree from the General Motors Institute in 1965, and was a highly valued and respected supervisor at The New Departure Manufacturing Company, Winsted Precision Ball Company, and Hartford Technologies.
On Aug. 8, 1964, Pete married the love of his life Sharon (Breckenridge) Gaudet. Pete and Sharon moved to Bristol in 1965 where they made their home and raised their three sons. Pete was a kind man with a big heart, and a great sense of humor who was universally loved by everyone he came across. He loved to spend time golfing, boxing, supporting UCONN women's basketball, watching the Boston Red Sox, and looking after his dogs. But above all, he simply loved spending time with his wife, sons and his grandchildren.
Family was everything to Pete, and he was everything to his family. Pete is survived by his wife Sharon, son Peter Scott and his wife Jennifer, son Chris and his wife Maria, son Steve and his wife Amy, and his 12 grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Sept. 2nd, at O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Avenue in Bristol, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
