Stanislaw (Stanley) Piendak, 89, of New Britain, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 31, 2023. He was the loving husband for 65 years of Weronika (Grzyb) Piendak. Born in Rupin, Poland he was the son of the late Kazimierz and Eleonora (Baczek) Piendak. When he was a little boy, World War II broke out which left a profound impact on him and how he lived for the rest of his life. At the age of 18, he entered the Navy and did his mandatory services for his country.
Stanislaw and his family decided to emigrate to the United States to have a better life. In February 1966, he and his wife and their 3 young children, not knowing the language arrived in Chelsea, Massachusetts. They were sponsored to come to the US with the help of Stanislaw's mother, Eleonora Piendak, who was a US citizen, but was living in Poland. He worked odd jobs in Chelsea while the family acclimated to city life. They were used to large open spaces with trees and grass and Chelsea was very different. They stayed in Chelsea for 6 months and then moved to New Britain in the summer of 1966, where there was a large Polish community that could help him and his family. He lived in New Britain since 1966 and was a devout Catholic and faithful member of Sacred Heart Church.
He was hardworking and had a successful 35 year career working for Atlantic Aerospace Textron, Inc. Always thinking of his family, he also had a part time job working as a butcher at Nozewski's Meat Products, taking as many shifts he could to bring in additional income for the family.
Stanislaw was a very friendly person and knew everyone. He enjoyed the outdoors, going for walks, working in the garden with his wife and fixing and tinkering on things around the house. He loved visiting Little Poland to make his rounds at the stores to pick up odds and ends and treats for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his sweets, paczki and ptasie mleczko. "Dziadzi" meant the world to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. They could never do anything wrong in his eyes. They spent numerous wonderful weekends and days with him. Babci and dziadzi's house was a second home for them. He would do anything for them.
When there was an event or holiday, Stanislaw was always the first to be ready to go or seated at the table. He enjoyed and loved being around his family, friends and neighbors. He was always willing to help anyone, in any way he could.
Most important to Stanislaw was his family. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. Along with his wife, Weronika; he is survived by his two daughters Jadwiga (Heidi) Karwowski and her husband Mieczyslaw; Elizabeth Kucharski and her husband Mark; and his son Slawomir and his wife Agnieszka. His grandchildren: Monique Collins and her husband Stephen, Anne Marie Karwowski, Victoria Karwowski and her fiance Connor Godlewski, Andrew Kucharski and his wife CarsonLee, Ashley Kucharski, Amanda Kucharski, Emily Piendak and Gabriella Piendak; his great grandchildren Mikayla and Nicholas Collins and another great grandchild on the way. In addition, several nieces and nephews and family in the US and Poland. He was predeceased by his daughter, Maryann Piendak in 2015.
The family sends a sincere and warm "Thank You" to all those who cared for Stanislaw in his time of need.
