Wayne Lentini Obituary
Wayne Richard Lentini, 83, of Palm Bay, FL, formerly of Newington, passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born in New Britain on June 12, 1942, he was the son of the late Angelo and Johanna (Buchas) Lentini. Wayne worked for the New Britain Herald and Liturgical Publications, Inc., and was a longtime member of Lighthouse Family Worship Center, New Britain. He is survived by his Best Friend Saul Clavijo, His Nephews Darren M. Messina and Rebeck P. Gutierrez; his children, Todd (Tracey) Lentini; Cheryl (Rand) Hoffmann of Plantsville; and Craig (Micheline) Lentini of Berlin; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Andrea Colon of Southington and Vanessa Lentini of New Britain; many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 42 years, Gail (Messina) Lentini; brother Darryl Lentini; sister Cynthia Fetterman; and beloved cat Princess. A beautiful graveside service will be held on Friday, August 22nd, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at West Meadow Cemetery, Willard Ave., Newington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Forests, the American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association. Oh Wayne, Wayne....I worked for Wayne at The Herald in the late 80's and again in the early 90's dubbing me Mistybar. He was the kind of man that upon meeting him, you felt as though you knew him all your life. We occasionally spent a little time outside of work. He was loyal and hilarious, true and fun-loving. In recent years, Wayne and I would message each other to check in. I will miss his humor, his kindness and his laugh. Thank you Wayne, for crossing my path and for the joy you brought me...see you on the other side. Love Mistybar!
