William Zigmund Obituary
William ("Bill") Roger Zigmund, originally from New Britain, Connecticut, died peacefully, Sunday, March 2, surrounded by his children and family.
William was a veteran of the United States Navy, a graduate of Central Connecticut State University, and served for 24 years in law enforcement as both a Connecticut State Police Trooper and a Farmington Police Officer.
Bill enjoyed fishing, playing golf, smoking cigars around a poker table, listening to music, and watching football. Bill was an enthusiastic gardener. He loved picking fresh vegetables from his garden and sharing his bounty with others.
After retiring, he moved to sunny Florida where he could enjoy year round gardening and golf.
Bill is survived by his seven children that friends would say his face would light up whenever speaking about them; son Lawrence Zigmund of Kensington, son Andrew Zigmund and wife Claudine of Marlborough, daughter Christine Brown and husband Larry of Wethersfield, daughter Catherine Ryan and husband Sean of Suffield, daughter Sarah Zigmund of Mystic, daughter Rebecca Zigmund and fiancé Jeremy of Bristol, son Adam Zigmund and Erin of Norwich, and grandchildren Kelcy, Peyton, Samara, Benjamin, Aaron, Brendan, Melina, and Zoey along with many friends in Connecticut and Florida.
Services will be private.

Donna and I extend deepest sympathies to the Zigmund family. I shared many shifts at FPD with Bill, and have many good memories of those times.

My condolences to the Zigmund family. I worked with Bill for many years at FPD and played a lot of golf with him. He was my first training officer as a rookie and taught me the "old school" way of doing things. Rest in peace Ziggy. Jim Rio
