Zofia Bartyzel Obituary
Zofia (Czerczak) Bartyzel, 87, of Newington, beloved wife of the late Stanley Bartyzel, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2023. Born in Jawor-kol, Poland on July 19, 1935 to the late Wladyslaw and Stefania (Slezak) Czerczak, she joined her husband in New Britain in 1959 and later settled in Newington to raise her family. She worked for New Britain Machine Co. and later retired from Indalex Aluminum Solutions. Zofia was a dedicated mother and friend who loved to garden, sew and cook. Her smile and special meals for the holidays will be greatly missed.
Zofia is survived by her sons Walter Bartyzel and wife Joan, Stephen Bartyzel; daughter Helen Bartyzel; brother Marian Czerczak and a special sister-in-law MaryAnn Czerczak. She is also survived by two beloved nieces Grazyna Wisniewski and husband Roman, and Elzbieta Tomczyk and husband Stanislaw. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Eugeniusz, Mieczyslaw, Boleslaw, Roman, and Antoni Czerczak; and sisters Maria Wiaderny, and Jozefa Monkiewicz.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Zofia's family on Wednesday, June 28th from 9:00 to 10:30am at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St, New Britain. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am in Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St., New Britain. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
