Rebecca Garcia Obituary
Rebecca L. Garcia, 94, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2008.
She was a native and lifelong Brownsville resident.
Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by her husband, Rosendo Garcia; parents, Jose Maria and Guadalupe Lopez and seven siblings.
She is survived by three sons, Rosendo Jr. (Guadalupe), Edward, and Alfredo (Ramona) Garcia; four daughters, Guadalupe Leija, Concepcion (Faustino) Lopez, Maria (Telesforo) Sanchez Jr. and Juanita Garcia; 28 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. today, March 18, 2008.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Committal services will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Joe I. Treviño, Garza Memorial Funeral Home, 1025 E. Jackson St., (956) 542-5511.

Hello Wela,I am glad that i had time with you before leaving for Iraq.
I have felt your presence all along.
Everynight that the moon shines on me I know that it is you smiling at me.
You have taught us all how to be good family and good people.
I shall miss laughing with you and hearing your stories.
But in my veins and in my words you shall live on forever.
And Thank You for giving me Concha for a mom and my best friend.

You are in our prayers. Tia we love you will miss you. Mom (Rachel Butcher) and you always had some good childhood and adult stories. You both laughed like school girls always.
