Charlene Gray Cox

Charlene Gray Cox, 84, of Pleasant Hill, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022. She was born in Brunswick County to the late Charlie Gray and Delta Cheers Gray. Charlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a devoted Christian. She is survived by her husband, Jim Cox; her daughter, Terri McNair (Larry), Shallotte; her sons, Anthony Hewett (Mary Rose) of Wilmington, Billy Hewett of Shallotte and Jamie Stanley (Kim) of Wilmington; her stepsons, Daryl Cox (Ellen) of New York, Dan Cox and Brian Cox, both of Richmond, Va.; several grand and great-grandchildren; her sister, Jewell Smith of Shallotte; and her brother, Richard Gray (Judy) of Shallotte. Memorial services were held on Friday, April 22, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Micky Beatty officiating. Interment followed in Seaboard Cemetery. The family received friends at the church.
