William Callen Obituary

Bill's journey on Earth ended Feb. 26, 2022 at 78. Bill was born in Kansas City, Mo., and spent most of his childhood in Trenton, Mo. He married quite young and he and his wife, Carol Hamilton, had three sons, Jeff, Ken and Bill. Bill served in the Navy while in his late teens and was stationed in San Diego. He then had a very successful career with Mutual of Omaha, managing teams in both data processing and end user computer divisions. Fate smiled on him and he was able to retire quite young. He then pursued his two loves, collecting books and playing pool. He was an accomplished pool player and made many great friends in various pool leagues. He married a second time and enjoyed 41 years with Marci McCarthy. They left the Midwest in 1990 and moved to Holden Beach. They greatly enjoyed life on the coast for 30 years. In the fall of 2020, they decided to trade the ocean for the desert and moved to Peoria, Ariz. He was an intelligent, thoughtful and kind man and always appreciated life's gifts, his family and his friends. He spoke softly, listened attentively, laughed easily and leaves a legacy of a life lived honorably. No ceremony is planned, as his ashes and Marci's will be scattered in the ocean, down the road. If you would like to honor Bill, please consider a donation to Tunnels to Towers or St. Jude's.
