Bertie Rahn Obituary

Bertie Carpenter Rahn, 92, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Hospice Savannah. Born on December 16, 1932, in Keller, Georgia, Bertie was a lifelong resident of Richmond Hill, where she built her home, her family and her faith.
A devoted homemaker, Bertie was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill. She faithfully served her church family for decades, teaching Sunday school, playing both the organ and piano, and giving her time wherever it was needed. Her strong faith guided her life, and she touched countless hearts with her devotion and kindness.
Bertie loved gardening, reading and keeping an immaculate home.
She delighted her family with her stories, always bringing humor and wisdom into every gathering.
A spirited traveler, she proudly visited all 48 continental states and, at the age of 70, even climbed Diamond Head in Hawaii - an accomplishment that reflected her determination and adventurous spirit.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, H.O. "Buck" Rahn; her son, Robert Paul Rahn; her brothers, Harry Carpenter and Bobby Carpenter; and her sister, Evelyn Fox.
Bertie is survived by her son, Lee Rahn (Kelly); daughter-in-law, Sherri Rahn; grandchildren, Coley Rahn (Katie), Casey Rahn (Hannah), Chaney Rahn (Sarah), Troy Rahn (Chiaming) and Ivey Rahn; her sister-in-law, best friend and roommate, Jean Carpenter; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Richmond Hill Funeral Home, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Richmond Hill First Baptist Cemetery.
Bertie's legacy is one of faith, love and family - a life well-lived and a spirit that will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Bertie was a special person. Always helping in every way. Sweet lady to all. In her younger years you'd never know what she'd say or do next.
Blessed to have known her.

Mrs.Bertie was truly a blessing in my life. She had a big heart and a smile and a hug to share. She any my mother were dear friends. One of my favorite memories of her was going on a church youth trip to Six flags where she chaperoned the group. Someone brought a scary rubber mask and she had fun wearing it and staring at cars as they passed our bus. She was a Godly role model and served God and others with gladness. She kept that joy in her heart always. Prayers for peace to Lee and Kelly, the Carpenter family, and all those whose lives she touched.
