Derrell and I met Pastor Cooper while visiting our dear friends, Ed and Cheryl Smith and attending services at Bethel. He always made us feel very welcome at the church services and we felt that he was a true servant of the Lord and always enjoyed his messages. We have not had a chance to visit in a while, but our prayers go out to his family, and his church family. He will be certainly missed by all who knew him. He has fought the good fight and is now rejoicing with the Angels in Heaven. May your fond memories and God's Grace sustain you in the weeks and months ahead. Derrell and Faith Danforth, Lenox, Ga. Words cannot express the deep sorrow we feel in our hearts at the loss of our great pastor and friend. He never waivered from preaching (and living) the truths of God's Word. He was an example to so many and a light in our community. He was never afraid to stand up and proclaim God's Word and principles on issues where a voice needed to be heard. His love and heart for missions was so strong and genuine. We will miss this man so much, as pastor, teacher, and friend. Many prayers go out to our church family, but none stronger than the prayers lifting up Mrs. Cooper, Brian, Amy, and Josh, and their families. We love you all, and thank you all for being faithful servants for Jesus.

My dear Sister Cooper, and family, I love you all with all of my heart. I am so sorry for the pain you feel at the loss of my friend, your husband, father and grandfather. This community, and Bethel Baptist will always have a space where Brother Cooper once stood in our midst. Your home will forever have an empty place that he filled. I pray for peace for you. The sadness always remains. The hope of meeting again in heaven is a blessing. Sometimes our grief is overwhelming. It happens at the strangest moments. It is okay. We, your friends and family in Christ will hold you in our prayers. I truly love you. Pastor I miss you, and a pain now remains in my heart where you were. I hold you there still in memories, precious memories.

The Cooper family and our church family we are sadden to hear of your and our loss. Pastor was and is a great friend to me and my family for a very long time. As you know I was able to talk with him after his last dialysis and we were to visit him today which is Thursday in Jacksonville, yet we none know what tomorrow brings. We have waited to join the Bethel church but we will as our visits for the past long period has been filled with the word as is needs to be preached. Back in '05 or '06 I was rushing (speeding) down I-16 and who pulls up beside me at 80 was Pastor and a pastor friend heading to Atlanta for a meeting as I was going to Nashville to Geo. Jones ranch, he wanted to stop for breakfast in Dublin as we did and had a great time talking about me and my family and my music business. He recently wanted to set down again for lunch, but something always came up. Saying this as a reminder that do now what needs done as tomorrow has no guarantee. He never failed to tell me and Patsy that he loved us. We appreciate the Cooper family sharing him with us. WE love you all and may God continue to Bless Bethel.

Mrs. Lynette, Brian,Amy, and Josh

I can not express how broken my heart is to hear about the passing of your father/husband. He was an inspiration in my life many times, and I will never forget some of the sermons he preached that I learned so much from. He was truly a man of God and loved the Lord. God welcomed him in heaven with open arms to walk the streets of gold. As his time here on earth may be done, he will never be forgotten, he will forever be missed. May God wrap his arms around your sweet family and comfort them during this time.

We come into this world alone, and we leave the same way. Pastor Cooper was never alone, the Lord specifically hand picked Pastor. Pastor Cooper was a man of many inspirational ideals. Through the teachings, love, and patience our family was able to grow closer to God. Pastor Cooper and Mrs. Cooper showed my husband and I how a husband and wife should not only share in the Lord's many gifts, but how to teach our children how to worship and glorify our heavenly father. The Cooper family and parishioners of Bethel Baptist Church welcomed us into their hearts and lives 5 years ago. For that simple act we will forever be grateful.

Lynette, Brian, Amy, and Josh,

Please know that we are praying for you and the church. We have lost a great man of God, who was a great friend to our family. But we take comfort in knowing that when he entered heaven's gates, Christ himself said, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant". We love and miss you all. May the grace of God carry you through this time.

2 Timothy 4:7-8

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that dayand not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

I never got to meet Bro Cooper, but I want to thank him and his family and Church family for being such loving church to my son and family.

So many profound things to say about this Great Man of God, Pastor Cooper. He was a great support for Terry Tucker and me when Terry was fighting the battle of cancer. Every time I took Terry to Chemo, he was so depressed and I simply dialed Pastor Cooper's phone number and handed the phone to Terry. Terry immediately calmed down. Years before, Carlton Cooper stopped at our house and invited Terry to Church. This was the beginning of a beautiful relationship, where Pastor helped bring Terry to the Lord! How could anyone not find comfort when they hear Pastor Cooper's voice? His voice was so genuine and you were always aware of how much this man deeply cared about how you were feeling. His voice was that of a comforting father but his words were even more comforting. To know Pastor Cooper has been a true honor. I will miss him so very much as so many people will. I pray his family will be comforted in knowing he is in a much better place than any of the rest of us. I am sure he is having a lovely reunion. I love you Pastor Cooper and I miss you terribly. I hope to be at one of those reunions one day with you and Terry and so many other loved ones that have passed. Lucinda
