Leon Frazier Obituary

Mr. Leon Frazier, Sr, 60, of Midway, GA departed this life on Monday, August 23, 2021, at St. Joseph's Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA.

Leon graduated from Bradwell Institute on June 5, 1978. At the age of 17, he began his dual career at Interstate Paper Mill, now known as DS Smith in Riceboro, GA for over 44 years. He also worked for Liberty County Board of Education as a substitute Bus Driver for 44 years. Leon would drive the school bus and himself to school during his senior year. He was an active community member; he dedicated his free time as a Volunteer Firefighter for Riceboro Fire Department.

Leon was a member of the Palmyra Missionary Baptist Church in Midway, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Frazier, Sr. and Louise Frazier.

Leon also leaves to cherish his memories, two loving brothers, Herbert Frazier Jr. (Renee) of Brunswick and Julius Frazier Sr. (Sandy) of Hinesville; one loving sister, Jane Harvey of Midway; two uncles, Franklin Stevens (Eureka) of Key West, FL and Edward Stevens (Sarah) of Savannah; and one aunt, Emma Fuller of Midway.

Leon was a fervent father to two sons, Shawn Green (Sanchess) and Leon Frazier, Jr and one daughter, Shanelle Frazier of Midway, GA. One nephew, Julius Frazier, Jr. and seven nieces, Karla Frazier, Tanesha Nelson (Barry), Channie Frazier, LaTonya Irving (Conrade), Ebonie Frazier, Ashley Frazier and LaTarsha McMillan (Sedrick) and 11 grandchildren.

His funeral service will be at 11am. Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Dorchester Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.
